This was passed in 2019, effective from 1/1/20 to 1/1/30 and applies throughout California, limiting rent increases in most situations to 5% plus CPI, with a maximum of 10% in one year, and providing that evictions must be for just cause only. These apply only to buildings placed in occupancy in the last 15 years and local ordinances such as CSFRA which are more restrictive will apply in those jurisdictions.
