Hear a public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8th - 250 years after it was first read in public. Listen and reflect on the words that our forefathers (and foremothers) heard when the Declaration was first read. Has its meaning changed after 250 years? Afterwards League members can gather and share their thoughts over coffee. Contact memberships@lwvlamv.org for more information.
This event is part of a nationwide, simultaneous reading of the Declaration at 3:00 pm PDT. Elected officials and community leaders will read the declaration and grievances. Presented by Los Altos Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution with the City of Los Altos and the Town of Los Altos Hills.
