Bay Area League Day: Housing and the Bay Area's Future.. The keynote speaker will be DAVID ROSEN, a leading expert in the field of affordable housing finance, policy, land use, lending and investment strategic planning. There will be panels of experts on 1) meeting regional housing needs in light of the sustainable communities' strategy, 2) difficulties of financing affordable housing, and 3) how to serve the hardest to house. There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience during each panel.

Cost: In advance: $30 ($15 without lunch); at the door $35 ($20 without lunch).

GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATIZATION: Study Session.. GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATIZATION: Study Session. This winter Leagues across the country will study the privatization of government services to develop a national privatization policy to be considered at the national convention in June 2012. Some papers have been posted on the League of Women Voter's United States Website and more will be posted in the next few weeks. Consensus questions will also be posted by the end of the year. Registration at 7:15pm. Coffee and tea will be served.

CONSENSUS MEETING RE PRIVATIZATION OF GOVERNMENT SERVICES. Join us as we develop our local position on the consensus questions regarding the privatization of government services. Our positions will be forwarded to the LWVUS by the May 1 deadline, so that a LWVUS privatization policy can be adopted at the national convention in June 2012. For background, review the study papers and consensus questions before the meeting by clicking the link on our website.

Registration at 9:15am. Coffee and tea will be served. Bring a brown bag lunch.
