Monday, May 12, 2008	7-9pm	Mountain View City Council Chambers 500 Castro Street Mountain View, CA 94041	Candidates Forums for Superior Court Judges and 22nd Assembly District Seat. The League of Women Voters of Los Altos/Mountain View & Palo Alto presents a Candidates Forum for Superior Court Judges Office #8, from 7:00 to 8:00pm - Candidates for the Santa Clara Superior Court. The League of Women Voters of Los Altos/Mountain View presents a second Candidates Forum for the 22nd Assembly District Seat, from 8:00 to 9:00pm - Democrats are vying for the seat being vacated by Sally Lieber. The 22nd Assembly seat serves Mountain View, parts of Los Alto, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, and San Jose. Candidates will field written questions from the audience. Thursday, May 15, 2008	2-5pm	Community Services Agency 204 Stierlin Road Mountain View, CA 94043	Is Affordable Housing Available in Mountain View?. The week of 5/13-5/17 is Affordable Housing Week in Mountain View. Go to http://www.affordablehousingweek.org for a Calendar of Events for the whole week. Of great interest is the panel discussion on Thursday, the 15th. Roy Hayter, an active member of our Affordable Housing group in the LWV of LAMV, is one of the panelists. Friday, May 16, 2008-Sunday, May 18, 2008		Sacramento, CA	LWV California Council. This is the annual meeting for the League of Women Voters California Council. LWVLAMV will send the following delegates: Jane Turnbull, Crownie Billik and Lisette McCracken.
Saturday, May 17, 2008	8:30am-1pm	City of Santa Clara	City of Santa Clara Affordable Housing Tour. Registration is required. Cost is $10. Saturday, May 31, 2008	10-12:30pm	San Jose Library San Jose, CA	LWV of the Bay Area Convention. The annual meeting of the Bay Area League of Women Voters will be in San Jose this year. LWVLAMV will send the following delegates: Coeta Chambers, Jane Turnbull, Crownie Billik, Pat Showalter, Susan Russell and Katrina Smathers.
Saturday, June 07, 2008	10am-2pm	Don Giovanni Restaurant Mountain View, CA 94041	League Annual Business Meeting. Members - come celebrate another successful year with the League of Women Voters of Los Altos / Mountain View. Our business meeting will precede the luncheon. The speaker will be Sally Lieber, Assemblywoman of the 22nd Assembly District. She will give us an update of the current state of legislation in this session -- and insights into what it means to be Speaker Pro Tem of the Assembly. Reservations are required for the luncheon.
